European Roots
Our name is a shortened form of the names of two regional banking cooperative banking organizations in the Netherlands called The Cooperative Central Raiffeisen Bank and the Cooperative Central Farmer's Credit Bank, or "Boerenleenbank". These institutions merged in 1972 to form one central cooperative bank: the Cooperatieve Centrale Raiffeisen-Boerenleenbank or Rabobank.

Our Logo
Rabobank's logo is an image of a human figure crossing a sun-dial, and was adopted by Rabobank in the mid-1990s. The human figure centered on the sun-dial stands for the central part people play in our people-focused organization, whether they are customers, employees, or communities. The sun-dial stands for time and the future, for Rabobank's goal is helping customers and employees reach their future financial goals successfully. These commitments to people and their goals are as central to Rabobank's philosophy and principles today as they were 100 years ago.
