Mobile Deposit Tips

If the photo you take of a check you’re depositing has shading, other characters, graphics, or poor handwriting, the amount on the check may not be read correctly by the Mobile App. As a result, the check may not be accepted for mobile deposit and will have to be deposited at an ATM or Rabobank branch.

You can help avoid that with these tips:

  • Include all four corners of the check in your photo
  • Take the photo against a dark background rather than a light background
  • Be sure the photo is well lit from overhead to reduce shadows
  • Take the picture from directly above the check and hold the camera very still
  • Make sure the picture and the check amount are clearly visible in the image
