ROSEVILLE, Calif., Feb. 10, 2016 — Rabobank N.A. has appointed Anker Fanoe as chief retail banking officer, overseeing all aspects of retail and business banking, and mortgage and consumer lending. He succeeds Mark Borrecco, who was appointed the bank’s CEO and president Dec. 1.
Previously, Fanoe, 48, served as director of retail and business banking, a position he held since 2013. As director, he supported more than 100 branches from Red Bluff to the Imperial Valley, led the introduction of new products and services, accelerated deposit growth, and garnered customer satisfaction scores that topped national and western region banking averages, according to The MSR Group, a leading market research company.
“Anker is an influential leader who has greatly impacted Rabobank since joining in 2009,” Borrecco said. “He has led top-performing business units and his extensive banking expertise will continue to positively impact the bank’s success.”
Prior to joining Rabobank, Fanoe held senior leadership roles at Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Citibank, Chase and Washington Mutual.
Active in his community, Fanoe currently sits on the California Enduro Series Board of Directors and previously served on the Board of Directors for the California Association of Local Economic Development in California and the Kern Economic Development Corporation in Bakersfield. He is also a founding director for the Housing and Opportunity Foundation of Kern in Bakersfield.
Fanoe earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
