Rabobank, N.A. has an exciting opportunity for a Investment Research Specialist! The Investment Research Specialist is responsible for supporting the investment department in the areas of investment research, portfolio management, client reporting, sales and other research. The Specialist researches and analyzes the mutual funds, individual bonds and stocks held in clients accounts or that potentially could be used in client accounts. Such analysis includes evaluations of the strategies, character, performance and other factors for each fund. Responsibilities will include and are not limited to the following:
Uses Morningstar Principia, fund company websites, prospectuses and shareholder reports and the SEC’s EDGAR website for source information.
Maintains managed investment portfolios in the Morningstar Principia software, preparing, analyzing and discussing associated reports.
Assists in the day-to-day management of client accounts, primarily by calculating trade amounts when account rebalancing/reweighting is required.
Maintains the investment returns composite and may participate in performance analysis with gained experience.
Maintains investment portfolio information reports.
Maintains and updates the Asset Allocation Guidelines spreadsheet used for Trust Investment Committee (TIC) meetings.
Assists with the preparation of annual Reg. 9 investment reviews.
Assists in communicating investment-related information to clients through preparation of letters and emails, making telephone calls and participating in client meetings.
Supports the sales effort by providing Business Development Officers (BDOs) with the investment portfolio information reports and other sales materials, as determined by the BDO.
Supports economic research by obtaining and analyzing information available from the Bureau of Economic Analysis, Bureau of Labor Statistics, Institute for Supply Management, Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis and other sources.
Successful candidates will possess the following:
- High School Diploma or equivalent with 4 years related Investment Management experience required; or Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration preferred.
- Related industry certification, credential, or license preferred in Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
- Valid Driver’s License required or available transportation.
- Proficient with: MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, Internet, BakerHill (or similar system), Metavante (or similar system), LaserPro (or similar system).
- Ability to travel between bank and customer locations and/or commute for training purposes (less than 25%).
