Your Function:

Rabobank, N.A. has an exciting opportunity for a Auditor IT Senior! This position can be located in either Arroyo Grande or Santa Maria, CA.  The Auditor IT Senior plans  and performs IT audits to assess the overall operational efficiency of Rabobank, N.A.'s (RNA) information technology infrastructure including applications and hardware.   Responsibilities will include and are not limited to the following:

  • Reviews and assesses the Bank's controls within IT operations including hardware and software/applications through periodical audits of each.
  • Conducts audits of all sizes and complexity.  The IT Auditor Senior is capable of conducting all IT audits within RNA.  Recommends scopes of audit for specific functions within assigned audit responsibility.
  • Prepares work paper documentation to support audit work with evidence of deficiencies in controls, duplication of effort, extravagance, fraud, or lack of compliance with laws, government regulations, and management's policies or procedures. Work paper documentation must comply with industry standards.
  • Reviews records of branches/departments subject to audit for purposes of recognizing inefficiencies and making recommendations for improvements.
  • Coordinates and analyzes the preparation of periodic reports on specific bank activities as scheduled by an Audit Manager / Director.
  • Provides management with recommendations for revisions to policy and/or procedures when appropriate.
  • Assists in the development of audit and analytical programs as directed.
  • Works in conjunction with the Compliance Officer to ensure the Bank's compliance with financial institution laws and regulations.
  • Makes presentations to various bank groups and departments on internal controls and audit findings and recommendations.
  • Supports Audit Manager / Director in budget preparations and audit scheduling as requested to do so.  Administers the IT Audit programs of bank operations and applications. 
  • IT Senior Auditors are charged with training less experienced audit personnel in audit routines and conducting audit reviews.
  • Maintains good working relationship with all RNA staff to foster an open dialogue between audit and other bank personnel.
  • Supports the Audit Department staff by providing assistance with Computer Assisted Audit Techniques (CAATS).

Your Profile:

Successful candidates will possess the following: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Computer Science or related field with minimum of 2 years bank IT auditing experience required; or High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 4 years previous IT auditing experience required; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience required.” 
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and experience with data mining software products such as ACL or IDEA is preferred.
  • Proven proficiency in understanding computer networks, computer applications, and how they interact with business processes, and understanding of the COBIT 5 framework. 
  • Excellent understanding of bank accounting principles and analytical techniques required.  Proficient in computer usage with ability to prepare spreadsheets and management reports utilizing Bank software system. 
  • Proficient with MS Office and the internet
  • Ability to work independently, organize tasks efficiently, and perform the audit function accurately.
  • Able to cope with pressure resulting from meeting required deadlines and reporting requirements. 
  • Routine travel to bank locations using personal vehicle is required.  Travel outside of assigned region is estimated at 25%.
